Karen Magnussen was Ladies Canadian Figure-Skating Champion, 1968, 1970 to 1973. She also won silver medals in the 1972 Olympics at Sapporo, Japan and the world championships. She won the world championships in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. She became a member of the Order of Canada in 1973. She currently lives in her birthtown of Vancouver where she provides instruction in skating.
