Hilda Marion Neatby. Born February 19, 1904 Died 1975.  An historian, author, educator, and critic of the Canadian education system she was a member of the Royal Commission on the National Development in the Arts and Letters and Sciences, known as the Massey Commission. As Head of the Department of History at the University of Saskatchewan she demonstrated a lifelong love of learning and "stressed the importance of challenging the human mind." In 1967 she became a Companion of the Order of Canada.
